This is the first time an exchange has announced the net short sales positions in the history of the country's capital market.

The total short-sold amount on the bourse as on November 29 amounts to Rs 40.13 crore.

The disclosure follows a directive from the Securities and Exchange Board of India in this regard.

Among the 59 scrips, the short-sold positions held by the top nine companies including pivotals like Reliance Industries, ITC, Tata Steel, ACC and the State Bank of India
