Tired of hunting for that elusive second-hand Tata Sumo for the price you have in mind ? Or maybe you are exasperated with the ridiculously low prices that paan-chewing brokers are quoting for your brand new Tata Safari.

Hold on for a while, relief will be only a mouse-click away. Used cars in India will soon be making their debut in the information super highway.

If Concorde Motors, the joint venture between the Tatas and the Jardine International Motor group has its way, India's first "used car buy and sell site" on the Internet could be up and running next year.

That's not all. The Internet will tell you when your new car is due for its next service. You may even receive an e-mail warning you that its time to check the oil level in your car.

Or maybe you don't want to drive through the traffic to pick up a few accessories for your prized Mercedes Benz E-class. Just log into the Internet, click on the accessories and pay on-line with your credit card. The accessories will be delivered at your home.

All this and more will soon be possible on the website that Concorde Motors is developing.

"The reach of the Internet in India is growing and we feel that there is tremendous potential to do business over the Internet," Managing Director of Concorde Motors, Steven G Foster told Business Standard.
