Dos Holds Key To Gateways

For the second year in a row, the ITPO pavilion at the Baghdad International Fair 1999, which concluded on the November 10, was awarded the gold medal by the Iraq Minister of Trade Dr. Mohammed Mehdi Salesh. In an address to Indian businessmen prior to the presentation ceremony, Dr. Salesh assured positive consideration in sourcing Iraq's requirements from Indian participants saying India was one of the main suppliers of items under the Oil-for-Food programme. He said India's participation in the fair helped bridge the gap between Indian exporters and Iraqi importers.

ITPO's participation at this fair generated contracts worth approximately US$ 30 million with several participants such as Mather & Platt (I) Ltd and LT Overseas signing major deals.
