>It's a stunner: The new iPhones sport two new colours, jet black and black, besides a mirror-finish back. While these are minor cosmetic changes, the phones do look sexy, albeit similar to other flagship phones.
>Enhanced camera: The camera seems to be the most significant upgrade despite the resolution staying the same as the 6s series. Both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus get a bumped-up 7-megapixel (MP) front snapper, the optics on the 12MP main camera gets a six-element lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and aperture of f/1.8. However, the Plus also gets a telephoto lens along with the wide-angle camera, something we saw on the LG G5. And one can add depth of field to photos on the Plus.
> Bigger storage: Now, better cameras would mean more photos. So, Apple has bumped up the internal storage of its entry-level phones to 32GB. The other options are 128GB and 256GB, but be prepared to shell out a bomb.
> Sound matters: The iPhone 7 is the first Apple phone to sport stereo speakers. Apple has also ditched the headphones port in favour of the lightning connector, for both charging and music. Thankfully, it also bundles in a lightning-to-headphones port adapter for use with conventional cans. Apart from the new EarPods, Apple also introduced AirPods, which connect wirelessly to devices running iOS 10. It would be interesting to note if they work with older devices.
> Battling the elements: Now, if the iPhone 7 becomes your primary camera, it means you're carrying it everywhere. This phone is built to withstand the elements - both dust and water. But that doesn't mean you can dunk it in a bucket of water - the iPhone 7 can withstand being under one metre of water for 30 minutes.
> A new home button: Besides Touch 3D, which debuted on the 6s, the iPhone 7 sports a new home button which would be force sensitive, that will do different things based on the pressure applied. The home button also comes with taptic feedback, which would mean the button, while not being a button in the true sense, would provide feedback when an user pushes it, just as one would get while depressing a button. And of course, this will enhance your experience while playing your favourite Super Mario game, which would be available for the iPhone soon.
> iOS 10: Apple claims this to be the world's most advanced mobile operating system. Well, we tend to agree that it is one of the best, based on initial reports.
