Indian School of Business (ISB) and Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) will jointly offer a certificate short-term programme in corporate social responsibility (CSR) management.

“With CSR a buzzword today, IICA is excited to launch a one-of-its-kind 16-week certificate short-term programme in CSR that will capture the expertise of the institute in this domain. This would train and develop senior leadership, and is likely to contribute significantly towards effective implementation of the new legislation,” Bhaskar Chatterjee, director-general and chief executive officer of IICA, said in release.

It may be noted that the new Companies Act 2013 mandates two per cent of company profits for CSR activities. An approximate 16,000 companies will be undertaking several CSR projects in compliance with the directive.

The programme, which will commence in June 2015, has been co-designed for delivery at ISB’s Hyderabad and Mohali campuses, and at the IICA campus at Manesar by the National Foundation of CSR, IICA and Centre for Executive Education, ISB. The fee is Rs 4.5 lakh.

According to ISB, the programme will be offered as a hybrid model, combining classroom and online learning. It will be spread over a period of 16 weeks, including three on-campus contact sessions. Participants will continue the course online during the interim periods through ISB’s technology-aided tools.

Officials and executives from the private and public sectors as also not-for-profit organisations with an average of six to seven years of work experience will be eligible for admission into the programme, which is designed to also enable and build the capacity of participants who are not necessarily from the CSR domain but have to execute this function within their organisations, it added.
