Disclosing the company's future plans after attending the sixty-fifth annual general meeting of the shareholders, chairman of the company Raghu Mody said "We are always open to brand acquisitions considering the fact we get it at a proper price. However, it will not be within our existing product range and will not be any brand either in the skincare and hair cosmetic sector."
The company is also planning to build up a new plant for its 'Emoform' brand of toothpaste. At present, it has one at Kaikhali near Calcutta. Mody, however, said this plant will cease to meet the global standards after 2002.
"We will have to build a new plant by then and the cost of it would around Rs 2 to 5 crore. Though the location has not been decided, the new plant may come up at either Mumbai or Calcutta," Mody said.
JL Morrison, which is famous for its Nivea brand of skincare, will be launching about 30 products every year and this year it plans to introduce deodorants range and sun protection cream.
