Kellogg Innovation Network to host flagship meet in India
Partners with Hyderabad-based Woxsen School of Business to conduct KIN Global Summit in India in 2014-15
M Saraswathy Mumbai The Kellogg Innovation Network (KIN), a platform for collaboration between the Kellogg School of Management faculty, corporate innovation leaders, non-profit organisations and governments is considering hosting its flagship event, KIN Global, in India. The network is partnering Hyderabad-based Woxsen School of Business to conduct KIN Global Summit either at the end of this year or the first half of 2015.
Robert C Wolcott, founder and executive director, Kellogg Innovation Network, said the summit was aimed at encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit. “We started about 10 years ago with a few corporate leaders. Now, about 200 members are associated with KIN Global. We will continue to find opportunities to launch our initiatives and dialogue process in India,” he said.
He said KIN aimed to create a strong network of innovators in countries such as India.
KIN Global, he added, tried to reach beyond business segments to leaders in the government, non-profit organisations, academia and arts. Rather than prescribe solutions, it provided a platform to connect, collaborate, discover and act, he said.
KIN Global had chosen Woxsen School of Business, as this business-school was solely focused on entrepreneurship, Wolcott said. The school is set to launch operations in April 2014 and would cater to prospective entrepreneurs. Through the partnership with KIN, the school plans to organise various events for exchange of information and ideas. R Narasimhan, dean of the Woxsen School of Business, said an entrepreneurial mindset as an entry criterion for the school.
Founded in 2003, KIN facilitates strategy and management dialogue to promote innovation-led growth. “Through events like KIN Global, we are building a network of thought leaders who have the collective ability to advance the global prosperity agenda,” said Wolcott.
