Mitsui Acquires Majority Stake In Sesa Goa

Sesa Goa, which is the third largest iron mining company in India, produces about 4.5 million tonnes of iron ore per year. The company posted sales of $80 million in 1994-95. A Mitsui spokesman said the market value of the 10 million Sesa Goa shares that Mitsui had acquired was about 6.0 billion yen. Mitsuis controlling interest in Sesa Goa is held through Finsider International, a holding company.
