Equities staged modest recovery on fresh buying support after making a dull start on the Calcutta stock exchange (CSE) yesterday.
Marketmen said closure of NSE initiated Calcutta based brokers to execute their transactions at CSE which resulted in improved volume of business.
However, keeping in mind the coming Puja holidays starting today operators were not overenthusiastic in making fresh commitments, brokers said. Reflecting the trend Calcutta stock exchange-50 index resumed at 111.18 points, touched a high and low of 111.55 points and 10.85 points respectively before closing at 111.50 points gaining 0.16 points over the earlier close.
