Skyline NEPC has already recieved a formal clearance letter from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and has also begun a familiarisation programme for its crew at Madras. The programme is being conducted by Airbus Industrie which would be leasing Skyline the A 310.

Undaunted by the possibility that the large seating capacity of an A 310 may go waste and push down profits, Tirupathi Khemka says that the lease rentals of the aircraft are much lower as also the breakeven ratio. Considering that an A 310 can seat 221 passengers as against 135 in a Boeing 737-400, only time would tell whether NEPC has a winner in hand.
