Pivotals Recover Marginally On Good Purchases

Pivotal prices recovered marginally on buying support from financial institutions and general investors on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday.
The NSE-50 index opened at 1054.15 points, touched days high of 1066.00 points, low of 1054.15 points before closing at 1061.45 points showing a net gain of 7.30 points as against its previous close of 1054.15 points. Dollar NSE-50 index finished at 939.15 points gaining 6.55 points over the last working days close of 932.60 points. The Midcap index settled at 1169.35 points increased by 6.95 points as compared to previous close of 1162.40 points. The total turnover on the exchange was Rs 1325.42 crore involving 501.35 lakh shares.
The top gainers were IFCI by Rs 1.55 to Rs 32.85, Oriental Bank by Rs 2.7 to Rs 62.65, Tata Tea by Rs 1.65 to Rs 422.45, L&T by Rs 8.2 to Rs 205.15 and Indo Gulf by Rs 1.35 to Rs 37.49. Losers were EIH by Rs 15.3 to Rs 415, Andhra Valley by Rs 1.5 to Rs 78.55, Grasim by Rs 6.2 to Rs 349.45, MRPL by 30 paise to Rs 19.95 and MTNL by Rs 2.45 to Rs 263.15.
ITC registered the highest turnover of Rs 486.37 followed by Tata Tea Rs 207.91 crore, SBI new Rs 161.72 crore, RIL Rs 113.96 crore, Castrol Rs 47.89 crore, L&T Rs 33.74 crore, ACC Rs 31.31 crore, Hind Lever Rs 21.55 crore, MTNL Rs 20.49 crore, Telco Rs 18.09 crore, Glaxo Rs 16.11 crore, Tisco Rs 12.52 crore, Bajaj Auto Rs 10.56, LML Rs 9.96 crore, ITC Hotels Rs 9.73 crore, Corp Bank Rs 9.04 crore, Colgate Rs 8.24 crore, BHEL Rs 7.57 crore, Infosys Tech Rs 6.21 crore, IPCL Rs 5.56 crore, BPL Rs 5.38 crore, ICICI Rs 4.97 crore, Bata Rs 4.96 crore, Burroughs Wellcome Rs 4.68 crore and BSES Rs 4.15 crore.
The wholesale debt market of NSE witnessed trades worth Rs 531.12 crore.
