The Delhi Stock Exchange Index fell by 6.14 points yesterday despite a last minute surge by the State Bank of India scrip during the closing stages of trading.

The Index which had opened the day at 742.65 points, closed on Monday at 736.51 points, to offset the gains recorded last Friday.

The bourse has also announced the addition of another 155 scrips on the on-line trading system from today.

According to DSE brokers, the SBI which recorded a turnover of Rs 67.37 crore, saw hectic activity in the last 15 minutes of trading on the eve of the last day of settlement at the National Stock Exchange.

The SBI scrip which had opened the day at Rs 262.50 touched a high of Rs 265.25, but then fell to a low of Rs 258.05. However, it pulled up towards the close to end at Rs 262.45.
