Seagate Opens Singapore Hard Disk Plants

US electronics company Seagate Technology Inc opened two giant new computer disk plants in Singapore on Tuesday. The two plants, which will employ 900 people, represented a total investment of around $200 million. The plants would have a combined annual production capacity of up to 50 million of the 3.5-inch circular aluminium coated hard disks "" also known as disk media "" equivalent to around half the company's total worldwide disk output.
