In the past year alone, Escorts Heart Institute, the capital's five-star heart-

care centre, performed a mind-boggling 7,000 by-pass surgeries on businesspeople, professionals and other high-fliers. Add to this another 4,000 patients who visited the hospital with other stress

related complaints.

The trend is alarming enough for the premier healthcare institutes in the Capital to sit up and take notice. And going by the old theory that prevention is better than cure, hospitals like the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Escorts are setting up programmes to prevent all those fast-paced careers from reaching the burnout stage.

Escorts has pumped in Rs 10 crore to set up a state-of-the-art executive fitness centre, as part of its preventive and

rehabilitative strategy. And AIIMS has tied up with the Adhyatmic Sadhna Kendra Ashram with the same goal in mind.

The facilities offered by the two programmes couldn't differ more. But the two institutions share a basic goal
