Turnover Touches Rs 466.60 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 466.60 crore yesterday.

Of this, corporate debentures accounted for Rs 10.94 crore partially boosting the trading volume.

The inter-bank call rate ruled lower between 5 per cent and 5.50 per cent and closed in 3.5-4 per cent band.

In keeping with the trend, among government securities, the seven-year paper, 12.59 per cent 2004, witnessed heavy trading and there was a marginal decline in the yields.

This paper was traded for Rs 96 crore at a weighted average yield of 12.42 per cent.

The volumes were higher in this security vis-a-vis on Wednesday when the quantum of trades in this paper was Rs 42 crore at 12.44 per cent.

The 12.14 per cent 2000 was also traded for Rs 45 crore at 11.29 per cent.

In the treasury bills segment, the 364-days treasury bills maturing September 12 this year were traded for Rs 40 crore at 7 per cent yield.

Among corporate debentures, the 15 per cent Reliance debenture 1997 and the 16 per cent MRPL 2002 accounted for the bulk of the trades.
