Quality control of spices and proposal for joint ventures would be among the main subjects to be discussed at the fourth World Spice Congress which would be held in Chennai from January 23 to 25 next.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad yesterday, K P G Menon, director (marketing), Spices Board said that the international spice event would discuss among other things quality parameters, value addition andexplore the possibilities of joint ventures.Over 150 delegates from forty countries would take part, K P G Menon said.
The first World Spice Congress was held in Bangalore in 1990, Second in Goa in 1992 and the third in Cochin in 1995.
Over two hundred Indian exporter delegates would also take part in the congress which would be jointly organisedby Spices Board and the All India Spices Exporters Forum, he added.
