Persistent Systems, an IT-related product development company, is planning to move up the value chain, focusing on four major verticals "" telecom, infrastructure, independent software vendor (ISV) and application ISV and tools.

Persistent has unveiled a 'design for manufacturing strategy' through its new model 'go-to-live' to tap the emerging software vendors and enterprises.

The model enables startups to quicken their time to market and focus on innovation and business growth.

Besides, it offers all aspects of product development and support, including research and design, quality assurance, maintenance and support, cross platform development and porting, deployment and integration and documentation.

Anand Deshpande, chairman and managing director, Persistent Systems, said, "Over 70 per cent of new product development is handling project management, planning, tracking, bugs and database and other functions, with only 30 per cent of the resources available for idea, prototype and algorithms. This 70 per cent can be outsourced under our 'go-to-live' model."

Regarding the global trends, Deshpande said, "India is the first choice for offshoring destination with 83 per cent of the total work."

Persistent competency centres provide strong balance of people, processes and technologies, bound together with the right information, infrastructure and practices, he said.
