Sony's new 7 inch location-free LF-X5 TV frees you from the hassle of being tied to one location for your viewing. The wireless base station plugs in to receive signals and delivers a high-resolution picture to the 7-inch screen with its 16:9 aspect ratio.

The dual-band wireless technology cuts out interference from mobiles and microwaves. The wireless LCD TV screen can carry your favourite programmes, movies and even internet and email over wireless from the base station.

If you have a dial-up modem adaptor or a static IP address, you can carry the screen with you while travelling and still access your favourite content, though in this case picture quality might vary depending on your ISP's speed.

Good pictures, stiff price

The HP Photosmart 945 digicam is its first Indian release that uses the adaptive lighting technology. At around Rs 40,000, it isn't cheap but its feature rich. The Digicam features 5.3 megapixel total resolution and 56x total zoom.

It is user friendly and has a complete exposure control and good image quality. The built-in image processing technology yields very good pictures with vibrant colours that look great when processed and printed on photo inkjets.

The Digital Flash feature can make a noticeable difference in your pictures in situations where the ambient lighting isn't up to par.

You can cart this solar panel

The ICP PowerFLEX is a durable, lightweight, waterproof and flexible solar panel designed to roll up when you're carrying it around. It can easily maintain and charge a 12-volt battery and power most of your portable electronics, including a standard laptop.

Simply unroll the panel (it's around 1.3 metres x 0.3 metres unfurled) and plug into the power inlet. The versatile construction, waterproof material and a choice of mounting options make the PowerFLEX ideal for marine, recreational and outdoor applications. The PowerFLEX is available in 5, 10, 20 and 40 watt versions.
