In a significant step in mobile entertainment, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Andhra Pradesh circle, on Tuesday announced 'TV on Mobile' service to its subscribers in collaboration with 12 channels as the content providers.

The subscription plans unveiled by the company include a one channel per day plan for Rs 10, one channel for one month plan for Rs 50 and 12 channels for Rs 150 per month.

According to S Ramalingam, chief general manager, BSNL - AP circle, city-based Apalya Technologies is powering the new value-added services being offered by BSNL by beaming the channel programmes through its streaming server to the mobile phone subscribers of the company.

However, only high-end GSM (global system for mobile communication) phones can support the service, according to him.
