The company is soon going to roll out its enterprise server ranges being designed and developed from its India R&D which focuses on enterprise products for global markets.
"We have built the complete system development capability starting from design, to testing and the final roll out. The first products which include two-circuit servers being designed and developed from our Indian R&D centre, will be rolled out by the end of this year or latest by early next year," Kefetew Selassie, director of Enterprise Engineering & Co-Site Leader, Dell India R&D centre said here.
Dell had established R&D centre in India in 2001 primarily for software development. Over the past five years, the centre has grown from 100 people to 600 people now.
This is also the largest R&D centre for the company outside the US. While the India R&D was earlier mainly developing software products in enterprise segment, Dell had established a hardware group within the India R&D last year.
Dell has also inaugurated a new R&D centre in Bangalore, which will help the company consolidate all the four major groups within the India R&D under one roof.
The new building for the R&D the company inaugurated on Thursday has a capacity to accommodate about 1,000 people.
"We have found tremendous talent base in India for innovation. Our teams here are developing products that provide customers worldwide with leading edge technology and leading value," Brad Anderson, Senior Vice president, Business Product Group, Dell said.
Over the years, Dell has made cumulative investments of over $150 million in expanding its research capabilities in India, he added.
