According to Kishor A Chaukar, managing director of Tata Industries Limited and member of the Group Corporate Centre that is engaged in strategy formulation at the House of Tata, e2e would soon become one of the top 10 BPO companies in the country.
"Our aim is to emerge as one of the top three BPO companies eventually," Chaukar said in an interaction with mediapersons here.
Tata Sons established e2e in Hyderabad, Pune and Mohali 10 months back investing an amount of Rs 70 crore.
Under the chairmanship of Krishna Kumar, it is handling the call centre of Tata Tele and VSNL belonging to the Tata group. At present, 95 per cent of its revenues of over Rs 500 crore a year are from the group companies.
Chaukar said that e2e would become a full-fledged BPO outfit shortly. It had just started looking at international clients and would reduce its dependence on group companies.
He feels that there is huge scope for BPO business and Hyderabad is one of the better locations in the country to set up such outfits.
Talking about Tata group's future forays in Andhra Pradesh, Chaukar said that the group was showing "considerable interest" in the field of biotechnology. The group was likely to set up bioinformatics and biotechnology research units in the state.
