The company will offload more support operations to its offshore centres in India for cost efficiency and to help improve turnaround times.
In the next few months, Eclipsys, a Nasdaq-listed software solutions provider for healthcare organisations, will begin offering post-sales support through its Pune centre which includes preparing special reports, workflow construction, facilitating customised solutions, consultancy and configuration to its clients in North America.
"At any given time we can offer customised solutions to major clients as the offshore entities in India are now linked to support our global customers who are based in North America, with far east and West Asian markets expected to open up soon, " said Nitin Deshpande, President, Eclipsys India.
Professional or customised services roughly form 1/3rd of the company's operations which will now be offered from Vadodara and Pune.
The company's clients in the US are large medical entities and hospitals who will be offered consultancy services through these centres. Subsequently, a hiring spree is being planned in the immediate future.
At present, the company has around 180 employees in Vadodara, which would be ramped up to 500 within a year.
While a few of the positions account for natural attrition from North America, the company has said that most new recruits would supplement the company's capacity to serve its large customer base.
This will be achieved through facility expansion in Vadodara and Pune. The recruits would include a mix of qualified professionals from India as well as some who have been part of the health solution industry abroad and want to relocate to India.
At the Vadodara centre, the company has engineered the Sunrise Laboratory, which is a laboratory information system offered following the acquisition of Sysware Healthcare Systems and Mosum Technology India in 2006 and PowerBank Enterprise Edition, which was developed to manage blood bank operations.
