Tata Teleservices, the company offering services under the Tata Indicom brand, expects the enterprise business and pre-paid segment to be the drivers of growth for the company in Orissa. It is looking at both these segments for reaching the targeted 1 million customers in the state at the earliest.

The company has a subscriber base of 6 lakh in the state at present with 85 percent of them in the pre-paid segment.

“We are looking at pre-paid customers for numbers and enterprise business segment for revenue maximisation”, Kapil Sharma, COO, Orissa Circle said.

Stating that the tele-density in Orissa is 18 percent compared to 33 percent at the national level, he said, it provides vast scope for growth of the company.

Dispelling fear of shedding the workforce, he said, Orissa is having high level of growth and Tata Teleservices will expand its network in the state to cater to the demand for telecom services in different parts. While the company has rolled out its services in 27 districts of the state, it is in the process of finalising its roll out plan for the remaining 3 districts.

Announcing the launching of a new pre-paid offer ‘Haier C6000 with go easy starter pack’ in the state, Sharma said, the offer will help to increase the customers in the state. Under the plan, a subscriber gets a Haier C600 colour FM handset with life time connection at a price of Rs 1300. He will also get talk time worth 1300 minutes to any network with 6 months validity free.
