The sleepy state capital of Gujarat may see an additional 5,000 jobs being created over the next one year.
All set to add an additional 5,000 seats to its global capacity of business process outsourcing (BPO) services, Texas-based Etech Inc. has acquired Tower IV at InfoCity in Gandhinagar.
The outsourcing company which operates from Gandhinagar and Vadodara in India, apart from running four centres in the US, currently has over 2,000 employees working for various services.
"We intend to generate around 5,000 jobs over the next 12-18 months at our Gandhinagar centre for which we have acquired a whole Tower IV at InfoCity. While our voice-based BPO operations bring us a revenue of around a million dollars per month, we expect the number to go up to as high as $10 million within the said period," said Jim Iyoob, vice president of global development for Etech Inc.
The company caters to clientele that includes Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies like AT&T and Verizon.
Having pegged a turnover of $ 40 million from its BPO services, of which Gujarat contributes around $ 15 million, Iyoob added that Etech Inc. has set a target of earning a $ 100 million revenue in next three years.
