City based Software products and services provider Harbinger Group has forayed into mobile learning by launching a new product Raptivity on iPad, iPhone and Android powered mobile phones.
Speaking on this, Vikas Joshi, chairman and managing director, Harbinger Group said, "Raptivity, the world’s first interactivity builder, is now on the mobile platform. With mobility, everything in e-Learning changes all over again. Mobile phones bring new population under the eLearning footprint that never had computers before. Mobile devices like tablets, smart-phones, e-book readers and media players open a wide range of delivery options. Finally, the unique capabilities of mobile devices allow you to make training location-aware, motion-sensitive, and two-way."
The company has plans to set up a software research and development facility under SEZ in Pune which will accommodate 80 IT professionals. The company has invested Rs 2 crore for this facility.
Also, beyond eLearning, Harbinger has entered into the interactive presentation market in 2009. It offers products like YawnBuster and Raptivity Presenter - which reported more than 120 per cent growth this year. These products take the conventional presentations to the next level. They allow weaving of audience response in the presentation in real time. Harbinger Group took the concept of interactivity another notch ahead with the recent launch of SiteJazzer.
"Millions of websites and blogs are getting added on the Internet every year, and capturing and keeping visitor attention is becoming increasingly difficult for companies, bloggers and webmasters. SiteJazzer provides them with a way to jazz up their website in minutes," says Joshi. Raptivity has been allowed a U.S. patent this year. This being Harbinger’s second US patent among the pending filings.
Harbinger’s eLearning products - Elicitus and Raptivity - are being used by the some universities, government agencies and the corporate users. Recently, Gensco, a HVAC distribution company with 26 stores in American states, reported development of 250 courses for 20,000 Gensco attendees using Elicitus and Raptivity. Korean version of Elicitus has been recently released.
