Technology company HP today announced that the country’s leading visual effects company, Paprikaas, has selected BP bladeserver technology to increase production of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and drive cost-saving centre initiatives.
Paprikaas chose HP Proliant Bl460c G5 servers to increase performance and establish an energy-efficient standard in its data centre, Rajesh Dhar, director, Industry Standard Servers, HP India Sales, told reporters today. With its low-power module and the latest low-watt quad core processor from Intel, the HP Proliant BL460c is optimised for power-constrained environments.
This server uses 44 fewer wtats per blade saving more than 700 watts per enclosure — upto a 25 per cent energy efficency improvement. “We now have increased our available compute capacity significantly without increasing our total power draw. We also have the compute power required to create the next blockbuster animation,” said Nandish Domlur, CEO, Paprikaas.
HP blade servers provides solutions that translate into savings in the form of space and energy, thereby reducing total cost of operations.
The blades servers offer visual effects companies a way to pack the increased comptuer power and capacity needed for producing high-resolution digital images into smaller space, said Rajesh.
