San Diego-based Continuous Computing Corp, a provider of software, hardware and services for telecom equipment manufacturers, announced a slew of high-level appointments and promotions last week.

Among those promoted was Pradeep Malhotra, who now heads the privately-held company's India operations. Malhotra. joined Continuous in March 2003 and oversaw the Bangalore development centre when it opened in July 2004.

As the company's vice president and managing director, Malhotra will now "take on full ownership of broader corporate functions", according to a company release.

A silver medallist in his bachelor of engineering (electronics & communications) from the University of Roorkee, Malhotra has been responsible for customer support and new product development at the Bangalore centre. He's said to have also stabilised the Trillium protocol software business after the company acquired the brand and product line from Intel Corporation in February 2003.

"Continuous plans to invest over $3 million in its Indian operations over the next few years. The Bangalore office serves as a key element of the company's product development infrastructure and also provides pre- and post-sales support for the company's customers in the high-growth Indian market," says Malhotra.

Continuous Computing supports over 125 customers worldwide, including several major telecom vendors in the wireless and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) markets such as Alcatel, Cisco, Ericsson, Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, Nortel, Samsung and Siemens.
