Infosys BPO, the business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Technologies, has decided to strengthen its presence in Rajasthan.

The company, which has a facility in Jaipur that is going to complete its one year of operations, is developing a new state-of-the-art campus at the Jaipur special economic zone (SEZ).

"This upcoming facility will comprise five buildings for operations and two food courts. It would also include operation areas, training rooms, conference rooms, technology spaces and other amenities. The facility will conform to the highest environmental standards and meet platinum standard norms," said Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO and managing director, Infosys BPO, while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.

"This facility should be completed by August next year," he added. On the existing Jaipur facility, Chaudhary said it maintained a growth rate of 70 per cent year on year.

This centre was formally inaugurated by Rajsthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on December 16, 2006. Since then, the centre had grown to employ more than 400 people and had prestigious global clients, he added.

He said Infosys BPO's Project Genesis program, which began two years ago in Rajasthan, had trained 228 lecturers in the state. Project Genesis aims to strengthen industry-academia relations.

The company is setting up a knowledge centre at Meera College, Udaipur. It has also short-listed about 500 students from Government College, Alwar, for Special Training Programs, which be conducted shortly.
