Intransa, a privately held US-based IP storage solutions provider, has announced plans to expand its India development team and its sales and marketing team.

Intransa currently has 50 developers at a development unit operated by Symphony Services in Pune under a BOT contract and the strength will touch 100 by end of this year.

The expansion of the sales and marketing team will run along with the opening of new offices in major cities in India.

Intransa also announced appointment of Vaidyanathan R Iyer as country manager for India and has promoted B Chandrashekar to director, International Marketing.

The company had in January announced plans to invest close to $4 million in India during 2005 as part of its expansion plans.

Intransa since November 2003 has invested close to $10 million in India. The company has Kumar Malavalli, one of the global experts in Storage Area Network, on its Technical Advisory Board.

Said Udi Paret, VP, Global Operations, Intransa: "Asia-Pacific in general, and India, in particular, is the fastest growing market for Intransa. The market has strong demand for multi-capable IP-SAN solutions and we are committed to investing more resources to expand our business in the region."
