iSOFT India, the local subsidiary of iSOFT Plc, a UK-headquartered software product company and supplier of healthcare application systems, has appointed Rajnish Kohli as the director-solution centre heading the R&D facility in Hyderabad.

Prior to joining iSOFT, Rajnish was with Perot Systems where he was part of the founding team that started the Indian operation.

The company also plans to increase the headcount to 1,500 including 200 in Hyderabad by the year-end, a press release said. At present, while the Chennai centre has around 1,156 employees, the Hyderabad centre has 35 people.

Commenting on Kohli's appointment, Ravan Boddu, chief executive officer, iSOFT India said, " iSOFT India is at the core of the global operations, with most of the product innovation taking place out of here. Kohli's appointment comes at a crucial juncture with iSOFT's recent expansion to Hyderabad. His experience in the software industry and the healthcare domain will contribute towards developing our solution centre in Hyderabad and subsequently ramping up the operations."

Talking on iSOFT's Indian operations, Kohli said, "As the engine of innovation for the group, iSOFT India is redefining the concepts of global healthcare. I am looking forward to working with iSOFT and developing the Hyderabad centre as an integral part in the product lifecycle."
