Lenovo India, PC maker company, has set up a store in Pune targeted at the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India. With this store, Lenovo aims to address the specific needs of the SME customer by making the Think brand accessible to them and offering solutions that address the SME community. The company is planning to open such stores in tier-1and tier-3 cities where industrial areas are located.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Rao, director-SMB, Lenovo India, said,"We have not set any target for these stores. This is not a mass exercise. Lenevo is opening over 1,000 stores for the cosumers by end of 2012. We are continually evolving our business and innovating products to better meet the needs of the SME community. With this store Lenovo is making the Think range easily accessible to the retail buyer."
In China and Hong Kong, Lenevo has already opened over 4000 stores for the SMEs. According to Rao, Lenevo has 13.7 per cent share in Indian PC market which has grown 28 per cent in the last year.
Lenovo has been aggressively steering into the SME space with the current market share of 6.8 per cent.
To penetrate the length and breadth of the country’s diverse SME market, Lenovo has created 500 retail touch points, which includes over 300 retail outlets and close to 200 re-sellers. This has enabled Lenovo to move closer to its target audience at both ends of the SME spectrum
These SME focused stores will have Think products like notebooks, desktops and tablets.
