The country's third largest personal computer (PC) manufacturer Lenovo today launched its new consumer PC brand Idea in India.

The new range comprises notebooks with three models "" IdeaPad Y710, IdeaPad Y510 and IdeaPad U110, and the desktop range includes IdeaCentre K 200 and IdeaCentre Q200.

The notebook range will be available at a starting price of Rs 42,000, while the IdeaCentre comes at a starting price of Rs 23,050.

The launch of Lenovo's Idea brand in India follows its global launch in January this year, part of its multi-pronged strategy to grow faster and more profitably than the industry average.

Through this launch the company plans expansion of the transaction model, focus on growing share in the consumer PC segment and building a stronger brand in India.

"We're bringing Lenovo's expertise in design and engineering to consumers with our Idea-branded PCs. Lenovo designed its Idea-branded PCs for the way people live, work and play with cutting-edge features. We are confident of growing our consumer business by blending innovative technologies such as facial recognition with stylish designs to enhance the way people use technology in their personal lives," said Liu Jun, senior vice-president and president, consumer business group, Lenovo.

Lenovo will soon roll out its marketing campaign called "Idea Everywhere", featuring its brand ambassadors Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan in April this year. The advertisements will be spread across different media such as print, online, email, direct mail and television in India.
