Lenovo launches world's first dual mode notebook

The PC player introduces IdeaPad Flex with 10 point multitouch screen at Rs 42,250

Technology giant Lenovo today announced the launch of a dual-mode notebook PC, the IdeaPad Flex. With a 10-point multitouch screen, the thin, light and sleekly designed laptop is enriched with various features, and is capable of flipping 300 degrees.

The 14” notebook is powered by the Windows 8 operating system. Its greatest USP is its flexibility in switching between the Laptop (classic mode for standard usage) and Stand modes (for touch usage and social functionality). Its 10-point multitouch is user-friendly and eases the touch experience by enabling users to toggle between applications with a quick swipe.

The stylish laptop is powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB RAM and optional 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 740M graphics card. The IdeaPad Flex can be connected through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, one each of USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, card reader and RJ45 Ethernet port. It boasts of a strong battery life of 48Wh that can play full HD videos for six hours, as well as nine hours for Windows 8 Idle at 150 nits or six hours for FHD playback at 150 nits.

The Flex’s rich surround sound quality is attributed to its integrated stereo speakers and is Dolby Advanced Audio certified. Other powerful and innovative features include 720p HD webcam for video chats, Lenovo Voice Control for easy execution of command, AccuType keyboard for comfortable and accurate typing, and ‘Energy manager’ to enhance battery-life. Apart from all this, it also brings a OneKey Recovery option and Lenovo Cloud Storage.

This whole package aims to achieve maximum functionality and innovativeness, integrating technology with a clarity in understanding of ingredients that could appeal a Notebook user. It has been introduced in the Indian markets for Rs 42,250, ready to woo customer by blending productivity and entertainment.
