Maveric Systems, an independent software testing company with a strong focus on banking, financial services and insurance segments, expects to launch a two-year postgraduate course in business administration (MBA) in banking and software testing, in partnership with Loyola Institute of Business Administration (Liba) .
 
A company press statement said this course had been designed to equip engineering graduates with the knowledge and practical experience in software testing.
 
In order to ensure high quality input, Maveric has decided to give scholarship to select students. The course begins on 10th July 2006. The students who successfully complete the course, would be absorbed into Maveric Systems, the statement said. The company aims to take in a batch of 60 students.
 
The curriculum has been formulated keeping in mind the specific challenges of the software testing industry. The two-year programme is divided into a classroom-centric first year and the second year focusing on intensive project execution internship at Maveric Systems.
 
The emphasis would be on banking and financial services operations knowledge, testing methodologies, test automation and project management.
 
Commenting on the programme, Ranga Reddy, CEO, Maveric Systems, said "The software testing segment is facing a huge shortfall of skilled workforce. We have worked with Liba's management development centre for the last two years and finalised the class curriculum. Through this industry "� academic partnership, we are committed to establish a model for bridging this demand-supply divide."
 
The course fee is Rs 80,000 for two years.
