"The launch of our infrastructure operations in India is a watershed event," said Peter Altabef, president and chief executive officer, Perot Systems.
The team has begun providing infrastructure capabilities such as messaging and UNIX engineering services to Fortune 1000 customers around the world.
"This is a significant achievement for Perot Systems because we are now 'three deep' in India and the US-with applications, infrastructure and BPO capabilities," said Padma Ravichander, managing director (global applications solutions division) and senior executive, India and Asia-Pacific, Perot Systems.
"Services would utilise the tools and IT Infrastructure Library -based processes to provide the same low risk and predictable results that our clients trust. This would offer them more delivery options: on-site, blended or fully offshore," said Mike McClaskey, vice president, (infrastructure solutions) and chief information officer.
The company is on a recruitment drive for its Noida, Bangalore, and Chennai facilities. It expects the India-based infrastructure to grow rapidly over the coming years as customers prefer companies with global delivery capabilities.
"By hiring and training top talent for infrastructure services in India, we would be in a better position to help our customers succeed around the clock and around the world," said McClaskey.
The expansion has increased the number of associates in Perot Systems India-based business units to more than 6,000, and the company expects them to comprise approximately a third of all associates globally within the next several months.
The 92,000 sqft tower at Perot Systems' Noida campus, which houses infrastructure and applications teams at present, will seat up to 800 in the coming months. Half the building is currently occupied, and the remaining half will be ready for occupancy in a few weeks.
