On the heals of Apple’s iPhone 6 launch, Samsung Electronics on Tuesday launched its flagship Galaxy Note 4, priced at Rs 58,300, in India. The company launched the product just about a month after the company unveiled the product globally.

The Galaxy Note 4 is priced much above the starting price of Apple’s iPhone 6 at Rs 53,500 and a bit below the iPhone 6 Plus at Rs 62,500. The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in the market ahead of Diwali.

“The new device exhibits people-inspired innovation with its unique combination of an enhanced S Pen, large and vivid display and superior productivity features to provide the most refined Galaxy experience to our customers,” said Asim Warsi, vice-president, mobile and information technology, Samsung India.

The South Korean electronics giant has also launched the Gear S, its latest wearable device, priced at Rs 28,900. The smartwatch works on both 3G and Wi-Fi, and works almost like a smartphone. The Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 5.7-inch display, and Samsung claims that the Galaxy Note 4 will deliver 7.5 per cent more battery life than the earlier Note devices. Also, the 3,220mAh battery can be charged from zero per cent to 50 per cent in 30 minutes.
