Sasken to set up centre in Mexico

Sasken Communication Technologies has on Wednesday announced that it plan to have an international development and support centre in Mexico.

The centre will be housed at Nuevo Leon (Monterrey), where it has just established a wholly owned subsidiary-Sasken Communication Technologies Mexico and will be operational by the end of first quarter of 2006. It will focus on embedded system software development.

Sasken Mexico's 12,000 sq ft development and support centre in Monterrey, in the Apodaca Industrial Park will be able to accommodate 100 plus engineers and the hiring process has already been initiated.

Sasken's 'Near Shore Strategy' to cater to the needs of its customers in the Americas. The Company's activities in Mexico will include Embedded System Software Development - specifically related to operating systems, multimedia and applications for mobile handsets important to community and local companies.

Sasken plans to collaborate, with the local academia and industry in Mexico to plant the seeds for a sustainable growth strategy for software development.

Sasken also announced that it has recently signed a license agreement with IXI Mobile to use the IXI Connect OS TM Technology. With IXI-Connect OS TM now as part of its offerings, Sasken will also be providing Application Framework Solutions.
