Satyam Computer Services Limited and Sun Microsystems India Private Limited have announced the launch of Satyam customer solution centre on Sun technologies.

The customer solution centre was inaugurated by Peter Cunningham, senior vice-president, Sun Microsystems Inc, at Satyam Development Centre in Bangalore.

This is the first such centre in India that would focus on building, testing and delivering leading-edge solutions around latest technology paradigms, a press release said.

The solution centre will address mutually-benefiting market/business opportunities and would initially focus on identity management, grid computing, voice-enabled solutions and J2ME applications.

T R Anand, director and senior vice-president, Satyam, said, "This solution centre will build, demonstrate and showcase proof-of-concepts (PoCs) on various Sun technologies to existing Fortune 500 and Global 2000 clients and prospects of Satyam. The PoCs will be later rolled out as service offerings based on the feedback received from them."

The state-of-the-art laboratory is spread across 3,000 sq ft floor space.

Apart from the customer solution centre, Satyam has made investments on developing a pool of technical personnel who have knowledge and experience on Sun technologies.

The customer solution centre will also aid Satyam in building competencies and new service offerings on Sun technologies.
