Hyderabad-based Smaat Aqua Technologies, a water and air treatment technology provider, is targeting a Rs100 crore turnover by 2013 from the current Rs 25 crore.

The company has developed mobile water treatment plant/units (MTUs), which can produce 25,000 litres of pure drinking water per hour.

It has already delivered 11 MTUs (worth Rs 4.4 crore) to the West Bengal government. “We are in talks with various state governments and the Centre to offer this ,” Karunakara M Reddy, managing director, Smaat Aqua, said.

The company is likely go for an IPO (initial public offering) after reaching its Rs 100 crore turnover target, he said.

As part of its growth plan, its major focus will be on municipal solid water management and water recycling, and the rest will be on the mineral water segment. So far, it has invested Rs 6.5 crore in infrastructure development.

Smaat Aqua is planning to launch more products, which include bio-mineral water by March 2011. It would also come out with sustainable report in the year under the global reporting initiative (GRI) guidelines eyeing the millennium development goals (MDG) of the United Nations Development Programme.

It would expand Smaat zones — its retail store — to 50 across the state from its existing eight by the end of next year.
