Italy-based think3 Inc a pioneer in providing solutions for product design and development is targetting a 15 per cent market share of the $75 million product life cycle management solutions market in the next 3-4 years, Tom Davis, director - International Sales told Business Standard.

The company is targetting the engineering, manufacturing and education verticals in to strengthen its reach and network in India, the company has appointed Adroitec as its National Distributor and entered into a co-promotion partnership with Hewlett Packard India.

The company is looking to seal a slew of partnerships with a host of VARs (value added re-sellers) as well over the next few months. "we currently have 10 VARs and will double that to 20 in the coming year," said Davis.

Additionally, the company has a number of smaller partnerships which it intends to develop in the coming years. Besides the partnerships, it will have a direct marketing strategy.

"We plan to have a sales team of 60 people by December this year," said Davis. He was in Pune to commercially launch its products in India and setup its regional office for the Western region in Pune.

Following Pune, Think3 will launch a sales and customer service centre in Delhi within the next 2-3 months. Think3 had a soft launch of its products in India in January this year and has already won clients which include Maruti, Quasar, GE.

"We won 25 clients in India during our soft launch and expect exponential growth to gain a 15 per cent market share in the $75 million PLM market in the next 3-4 years," said Davis.

With 'Made in India' products coming of age, Davis is optimistic about the potential the country presents for the complete life cycle management solutions.

"Unlike other emerging economies (read China, Brazil) India has the potential to become a design and manufacturing hub as such we are making huge investments in this country," said Davis.
