Ashok Patni and Gajendra Patni’s two sons today sold a total of 0.52 per cent shares of Patni Computer Systems in the open market, garnering over Rs 33 crore.
On November 19, the two brothers — Ashok and Gajendra — had sold 0.6 per cent stake in the company, mopping up Rs 39 crore. Narendra Patni, the eldest brother, however, has not sold any share till date. The three brothers hold around 16 per cent each in the company.
The Patni stock was up 5.24 per cent to close at Rs 466.15 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today.
In today’s transaction, Ashok Patni sold 300,000 shares representing 0.23 per cent for Rs 482.76, garnering a total of Rs 14.5 crore. This brings down his stake in the company to 5.58 per cent. He had sold 0.32 per cent of his stake on November 19 for a total of Rs 19.47 crore. Meanwhile, Sadhna Patni, wife of Ashok Patni, also sold 50,000 shares (0.03 per cent), for Rs 468.82 and Rs 470.
Gajendra Patni’s son, Amit, today sold 175,000 shares for Rs 483.08 and Rs 470.24, while his other son, Arihant, sold 51,000 shares for Rs 486.18, then 99,000 shares for Rs 481.82, and another 25,000 shares for Rs 470.24.
