As part of its expansion plan, the company will build a multi-modal logistics hub at Vizag, a project under the MoU signed by Balmer Lawrie with Visakhapatnam Port Trust. In addition, the company will set up temperature-controlled warehouses at different locations in phases.
Balmer Lawrie’s logistics infrastructure business has three container freight stations at Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. Its warehousing and distribution facilities at Kolkata and Coimbatore handle a whole range of cargo. Besides logistics, Balmer Lawrie operates five business units - industrial packaging, greases & lubricants, leather chemicals, travel & vacations, and refinery & oil field services.
