Key Cabinet announcements on agriculture, telecom and power sectors
Key Cabinet decisions: The Union Cabinet has approved a proposal for the auction of 2,251.25 megahertz of spectrum worth Rs 3.92 trillion at the base price. The telecom ministry plans to issue a notice to invite bids in December and hold the spectrum auction by March, telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said. It has also approved a subsidy of Rs 3,500 crore to sugar mills for the export of 60 lakh tonnes of sweetener during the ongoing marketing year 2020-21 as part of its efforts to help them clear outstanding dues to sugarcane farmers.
