Thousands march in Pakistan on annual Al Quds Day
Karachi, July 11 (ANI): Thousands of Shi'ite Muslims marched in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi to mark Al Quds Day to express solidarity with the Palestinian people. The similar rallies were held in the capital Islamabad, Lahore, Sukkur and other cities. In Karachi, about five thousand men, women and children marched over US and Israeli flags spread out on the street chanting: "Down with Israel," "Down with America." It's an annual event celebrated by many Muslims on the last Friday of Ramadan, and is held to show solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Though it was not last Friday in Pakistan, because the country started Ramadan a day after many Middle Eastern and European countries due to late sighting of Ramadan crescent, but Pakistanis marked Al Quds day along with other countries. The clerics protested the killings of innocent Palestinians by Israeli forces.
