A labourer was killed and eight others were injured on Wednesday when the roof of a three-story under-construction building collapsed in the Rabupura area of ??Gautam Buddh Nagar district, police said. The incident occurred in Nagla Hukum village when workers were removing the lintel shuttering of the roof around noon. The structure suddenly gave way, trapping about a dozen workers under the debris, they said. According to police, eight workers were rescued from the site with the help of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and admitted to a hospital. While one worker, identified as 22-year-old Zeeshan, died during treatment, five others are in a critical condition, they said. Indonesian rescue authorities made the tough decision on Thursday to start using heavy machinery to move large sections of a collapsed school, with no more signs of life from beneath the rubble and nearly 60 teenage students still unaccounted for three days after the building caved in. Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno told reporters on the scene in Sidoarjo that the decision had been made in consultation with the families of those still missing. Nine migrant workers died after an under-construction building collapsed at the Ennore thermal power station here on Tuesday, police said. At least 12 people were injured on Friday evening after a structure being built near the Humayun's Tomb in Delhi's Nizamuddin area collapsed, officials said. Police said that a total of 10 to 12 victims were rescued from the debris after a call regarding the incident was received at 3.55 PM.
