Tech Mahindra subsidiary Comviva names Rajesh Chandiramani as CEO

Digital solutions provider Comviva, a Tech Mahindra subsidiary, on Monday announced the appointment of Rajesh Chandiramani as CEO and whole-time director, effective June 1, 2024. Chandiramani took over the baton from Manoranjan 'Mao' Mohapatra, who retired in May 2024. Mohapatra will continue to serve on the Comviva Board as a non-executive director, according to a company statement. Chandiramani previously held senior leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, where he served as the business unit head for strategic markets in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Japan, and India within the Communications, Media & Entertainment (CME) vertical. Comviva fined Rs 1 lakh for delay in CSR fund transfer to PM Relief

IT company Tech Mahindra Group firm Comviva has been penalised Rs 1 lakh for the delay in transferring unspent corporate social responsibility obligation to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, as per a regulatory filing. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs' Regional Director for the Northern Region has ruled against an appeal filed by Comviva against the order of the Registrar of Companies, which imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on the company for the delay. According to the filing, there was an inadvertent delay due to technical reasons in the transfer of the amount unspent in relation to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligation for the FY ended March 31, 2021, to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund within the prescribed period of 6 months of the expiry of the financial year as per the Companies Act, 2013. Comviva appoints new senior executives to drive growth in Western markets

IT company Comviva on Monday announced the appointment of three new senior executives to drive its growth in the US and Europe. The company has roped in former Syniverse Americas sales head Paul Barowsky as Chief Growth Officer with the primary responsibility for driving expansion in North America and European markets, Comviva said in a statement. Paul has experience in scaling up businesses in North America. The company has onboarded Vineeth Rajagopal from its parent firm Tech Mahindra to drive the North American strategy and head the global Partner and Alliances Programme. Rajagopal was the Global Cloud Transformation head at Tech Mahindra. Parashar Vijaybhai has also joined Comviva leadership from Tech Mahindra to lead the Customer Success Manager organization (CSM) for North America. Comviva recently unveiled its new centre of excellence in the Netherlands which shall be the delivery hub for European markets, the statement said.

Comviva to hire 600 engineers by July 2022, eyes 10-12% business growth

Tech Mahindra group firm Comviva plans to hire around 600 engineers by July 2022, to meet growth requirements and to offset the impact of attrition, a top official of the company said. The company is now focussing on tier 2 cities and is now expanding the Bhubaneswar center, which was opened 3 years back, as part of its new strategy, Comviva CEO Manoranjan Mohapatra told PTI in an interview. "We are a team of about 2,000 members. We are talking about adding 600 people on a yearly basis. About 300 would be campus freshers and another 200-300 would be market hires," he said. The company has seen attrition rates rising to around 20-23 per cent in the last few quarters, from 15-16 per cent in the past. Mohapatra said the company plans to finish hiring around 600 people by July 2022, and continue to hire further to scale up the team in Bhubaneswar.
