Gamesa India has secured a contract to supply wind turbines for Atria Power’s new 50 MW wind power project, which will be commissioned in Kukru wind farm, Madhya Pradesh, by March 31, 2016. The 50 MW project in Kukru is the second order the company has signed with Atria Power with the last one being a 50 MW order foreseeing commissioning in the state of Tamil Nadu. As per the new order, Gamesa will handle the supply, erection & commissioning of 25 units of G97-2.0 MW T104 wind turbines specially designed for low wind sites in India.
Ramesh Kymal, chairman and managing director, Gamesa India said, “We are happy to announce this new deal with Atria Power that has come close on the heels of our previous order announced recently.”
This project is a part of Gamesa India’s consolidated order book for the fourth quarter of 2015 and forms part of 130 MW order book which was recently announced globally. Since two years, Gamesa has maintained its leadership position in the country’s wind turbine space with unparalleled solutions and service across the wind energy value chain.

Atria Power, one of the pioneers of small hydro projects in India, is rapidly expanding in wind, solar PV, solar thermal and hybrid power projects. Atria Power, backed by multiple marquee investors including Energy Financial Services (an affiliate of GE Inc), is poised to cross 300 MW of operating capacity across these technologies within this short span of 2 years. All the projects are scheduled to be commissioned by March 2016.
