 Mumbai, May 12 (ANI): The Central Government needs to relax protocols for buying vaccines, said Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aslam Shaikh on May 12."The Centre will have to come forward to help us, it needs to relax its protocols for buying vaccines. If the Centre eases its import laws a bit, we will be able to vaccinate the people in 3-4 months," said Shaikh.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd on Wednesday reported a 52 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 407.07 crore for the March quarter on account of higher income.
It had posted Rs 267.71 crore net profit after tax in January-March period of preceding 2023-24 fiscal, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's total income rose to Rs 4,664.73 crore from Rs 3,965.39 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Total expenses were at Rs 4,180.35 crore as against Rs 3,455.93 crore in the same period last fiscal.
For the entire FY25, the net profit was at Rs 1,380.31 crore, up from Rs 1,300.99 crore in FY24.
The board has also recommended a dividend of Rs 8.25 per equity share of Re 1 each for FY 2024-25.
The dividend, if approved by the shareholders at the ensuing 62nd Annual General Meeting, will be paid/dispatched on or after June 21, 2025.

In the aftermath of a terror attack in Pahalgam, several travel agencies in Delhi said on Wednesday that nearly 90 per cent bookings for Jammu and Kashmir have been cancelled by tourists over safety concerns.
Around 25 people have asked them to cancel their bookings for the Union Territory, said Gaurav Rathi, owner of Swan Travellers, a company located in Shankar Market, Outer Circle, Connaught Place.
He added that most of the tourists had planned to visit Kashmir next month and are now requesting cancellations.
The attack took place around 3 pm on Tuesday, when terrorists descended from the mountains in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley and opened fire on tourists. The area, often referred to as "mini Switzerland" for its lush green meadows, is a popular tourist destination.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday presented a Rs 40,187 crore-budget for the megapolis.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.
The House also returned the Appropriation Bill (3) with a voice vote.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.
The Lok Sabha had passed the Finance Bill on March 25 and passed the Appropriation Bill on March 21.
Replying to the debate later in the evening, she said the tendency of the finance ministry would be to exercise caution and not let go of revenues.
"But, here we wanted to use this opportunity to show our respect for Indian taxpayer. We have moved towards setting Rs 12 lakh as threshold up to which no one will have to pay any tax," Sitharaman said.
