The cooperation ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding with Swiggy Instamart to onboard cooperative dairy and other products on the e-commerce platform.
Under the agreement, products under Bharat Organics and other cooperative dairy products will be available on Swiggy's e-commerce and q-commerce platforms.
The agreement was signed on Friday by Swiggy Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha and Joint Secretary of the ministry D K Verma, with Cooperation Secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani present at the ceremony.
"The signing of MoU will facilitate cooperatives to connect to new age customers through new age technologies," the ministry said in a statement.
Swiggy will create a dedicated "Cooperative" category on its platform, featuring organic products, dairy, millets, handicraft and other items developed by cooperative organizations.

The India Cements Ltd, now an Aditya Birla Group firm, on Saturday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 14.68 crore for the quarter ended in March 2025.
It had reported a net loss of Rs 60.55 crore in the January-March period a year ago, according to a BSE filing.
However, its revenue from operations was down 3.11 per cent to Rs 1,197.30 crore in the March quarter of FY25. This was at Rs 1,235.74 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Total expenses of India Cements were at Rs 1,313.2 crore, down marginally in the March quarter. Total income, which includes other income, declined by 2.52 per cent to Rs 1,255.66 crore in the March quarter.
For the financial year ended on March 31, 2025, India Cements reported narrowing of its net loss to Rs 143.88 crore from Rs 227.34 crore in FY'24.
Total income was at Rs 4,357.41 crore in FY2, down 13.81 per cent compared to the previous year.

The 13th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival (DLF) will begin on May 2 at Bikaner House bringing together a gathering of political leaders, renowned authors, and cultural figures.
The three-day festival, themed "Delhi Writes: Voices, Visions and Verses," will run until May 4, DLF said in a statement.

The Delhi government has decided to allow advertising on around 100 Foot Over Bridges (FOB) in a bid to generate additional revenue for their upkeep.
The Public Works Department (PWD) minister Parvesh Verma has directed the department to start working on the project and come up with a proposal so that the extra revenue could help in the better maintenance of these FOBs, which are built on the main roads with heavy traffic flows.
"The idea is to generate just enough revenue for the proper maintenance of the FOBs. Currently many of these are in a poor condition, with their lifts and escalators requiring repairs and overhead plastic roof cracked and discoloured. Through the advertisements, we will fund the upkeep of the bridges," Verma said.
"The plan is to have a revenue-sharing model with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which will give the NOC (no objection certificate) for this project. Currently, there are just a few FOBs -- like the one at Akshardham -- where advertising is ..

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday presented a Rs 40,187 crore-budget for the megapolis.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.
The Lok Sabha had passed the Finance Bill on March 25 and passed the Appropriation Bill on March 21.
