ShopClues has seen exits of more than 250 employees, nearly 20 per cent of its 1,200-odd workforce, since February, it is learnt. These were not voluntary departures, sources told Business Standard, though none of the employees had been issued a termination letter. At the time of leaving, most of them submitted resignation letters citing personal reasons, another source said. Some of the exits were linked to performance appraisals as well.

The company called it a process of ''natural attrition''. Cost rationalisation could have been the reason behind the departures, said sources. The employees who left were given a month’s salary as severance, it is learnt.

ShopClues said, “Our headcount has grown between December 2016 and April 2017 and nothing outside of natural attrition and realignment of skills or organisational redesign has happened in the last six months….  Our employees are our biggest asset and we are proud to award higher-than-market increments to our high performing employees during the last review cycle. We are excited to welcome about 40 employees who will be joining us from our 2017 batch of campus recruitments.” ShopClues will also recruit winners of a national talent hunt in MBA schools.
